Playground Games revealed the setting during a showcase, calling it the most ambitious Horizon map to date.

Developers confirmed that Tokyo City will be at the heart of FH6. With neon-soaked districts, narrow side streets, and sprawling expressways, it’s being described as the most detailed urban environment in the series’ history. Expect traffic-packed avenues, tight corners, and endless high-speed straights across the city.
Beyond the capital, FH6 will feature Mount Fuji and surrounding rural regions. Players will explore winding mountain passes, rice fields, cherry blossom valleys, and coastal highways—all enhanced by Horizon’s dynamic seasonal weather system.
Playground Games says its work on the Hot Wheels expansion for FH5 laid the groundwork for FH6’s elevated highways. Tokyo’s raised motorways and looping junctions have been faithfully recreated for players who love long, uninterrupted speed runs.
At launch, Forza Horizon 6 will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a PlayStation 5 edition planned after release. As expected, it will also be a Day One Game Pass title, ensuring subscribers can jump in at no extra cost.
According to Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty, Japan has been the most-requested setting in Horizon history. From mountain drift culture to iconic cityscapes, fans have been asking for this since the original Forza Horizon launched in 2012. The developers promise FH6 will deliver the most expansive and intricate map ever created for the franchise.
From neon-lit Tokyo highways to the slopes of Mount Fuji, Forza Horizon 6 is shaping up to be a celebration of Japanese car culture and one of the most exciting entries in the series yet. With its mix of city racing, countryside exploration, and cutting-edge visuals, FH6 looks set to become a dream destination for virtual gearheads.
